All of us are presently facing serious logistic related issues due to shortage of containers, rise in freight charges, delays in movement of cargo, etc. which also resulted in non-fulfilment of export commitments. FIEO have raised the issue in various forums regarding these serious challenges faced by all of us. Members in Southern Region are also brought to our notice the brunt of extraordinary delays in movement of cargo to Chennai Port due to various infrastructure problems, coupled with unavailability of empties, sky-high ocean freight rates, etc. These issues not only creating an uncertainty in the movement of cargo, but also increase in the associated costs and loss of business.
Against this backdrop, FIEO jointly with India Sea Trade planned this webinar as per details given above to understand the perspectives of stakeholders and suggestions to work towards finding a way to reduce the uncertainty and costs by involving all stake holders.
