India and Kenya have deepened their defence cooperation with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on capacity building and collaboration in ship design and construction.
The MoU was signed by the chairman and managing director of Goa Shipyard Ltd, Rahul Shibu, and the managing director of Kenya Shipyard Ltd, Andrew Mbogo.
The MoU covers areas such as capacity building, training, and collaboration in ship design and construction. The two shipyards will work together to develop new technologies and build ships that meet the requirements of the Indian and Kenyan navies.
The signing of the MoU was part of a series of meetings between senior defence officials from the two countries.
