The story of the UAE begins with its people and their connection to the earth around them. Only a short while ago, surviving the desert meant living in harmony with nature. Understanding the ebb and flow of the sea, the passing of the seasons, the language of the stars and the history of its people
So when we share our story, we begin with the earth itself, we look at the desert, sea and wind, the heroes that emerged from those environments, the melodies and songs it inspired, the art it fueled and the traditions it helped to lay. We also look at the sky and the ambitions it inspired in those who once looked towards the heavens and formed the UAE, as well as those who continue to push the country’s boundaries further today.
On the 02 December, 1971, Founder of the nation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, raised the flag of the United Arab Emirates for the first time – a symbol of the birth of the union, and the powerful bond shared by its people.
50 years later, we will now share this moment with the world at Expo 2020 Dubai, a perfect embodiment of the UAE’s growth as a place of collaboration and cultural exchange.
