DKT Allseas will operate a new service, which will link the Chinese ports of Shanghai and Ningbo with the Port of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
DKT Allseas will launch a new service from China to Liverpool in April aiming to support customers who are facing increased ocean freight rates, as well as, reduced reliability due to the knock-on impacts of the global pandemic.
The London-based liner company will provide two different sailings from Shangai and Ningbo to the Port of Liverpool, with the first vessel to depart Shanghai on 5 April, while two additional sailings will start on 22 and 29 April from Ningbo to Liverpool. In addition, the services will have a 28-day transit time.
DKT Allseas will deploy a total of three vessels with a nominal capacity between 700TEU and 900TEU each, an Allseas spokesman told Container News. In particular, the feeder ships Ronnie, BBC Russia and BBC Volga will be used in the new express service.
Peel Ports expects that cargo owners will benefit from the direct sailings from China, with reduced delays as there are no calls at intermediary ports. Furthermore, DKT Allseas guarantees that once space is booked, the cargo will be shipped.
“This service, which is under our own direct charter, has been born out of necessity and frustration with the current supply and demand issue. By taking a progressive approach we can offer a guaranteed service, without deviation or additional port calls from Shanghai and Ningbo into Liverpool, at a sensible price,” said Darren Wright, managing director at Allseas Global Logistics, the mother-company of DKT Allseas.
