Muziris Heritage Project, which is the largest heritage conservation project in India has entrusted supply of 3 Hop On Hop off boats and one 4 seater speed to Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation. The agreement was signed in presence of honorable MLA Sri. V R Sunil Kumar between Sri N Prashanth IAS, Managing Director of KSINC and Sri. P M Naushad, Managing director of Muziris Heritage Project on 27.01.2021. The project cost approximate to rupees 3.3 crore for supply of three 25 seater hop on-hop off boats and one four seater speed boat to be utilized for rescue purpose. The boats are designed with advanced features and comfort. The boat will be under warranty for one year. Additionally one year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) is included in the proposal as well.
KSINC, pioneer in building steel vessels in the state, have entered into FRP boat building from December 2019. Currently KSINC is undertaking construction of FRP boats for the Department of Tourism, DTPC, KTDC, Department of Sports and youth affairs etc. KSINC is expecting water tourism works including infrastructure development and boat building from other states as well to include but not limited to Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. KSINC has already signed an MOU with the Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha for development of water tourism in the state and the works are ongoing. Currently other assignments include transportation of goods through waterways, CRZ clearances, managing of vessels etc. The turnover of the company reached 20 crore in the last quarter. The company is expecting to attain 100 crore turnover during the financial year 2021-2022.
