For the first time in its history, Global Goals Week will leave the United Nations General Assembly in New York City and come to life at Expo 2020 Dubai, from 15 to 22 January 2022.

Global Goals Week is bringing the world together to mobilise and accelerate momentum to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and drive global change for a more sustainable future for all by 2030.

  • Global Goals showcase at Al Wasl Plaza – 6:30 – 7:00 PM – 15 January
    • Celebrate the start of Global Goals Week at Al Wasl as the dome is lit up in the colours of the SDGs
    • Listen to Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, as she addresses the world

 Global Goals for All – 11:50 AM – 4:15 PM – 16 January

    • The flagship event of the week aims to create awareness around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlight the need for increased commitments to deliver on the promise of the Decade of Action. 
    • Key Speakers:
      • HE Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and the Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai
      • Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations
      • UN Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth
      • SDG advocates such as Bill Gates and Richard Curtis will be appearing virtually

 Women’s World Majlis | Gender Equality, The Mother of All SDGs – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – 17 January

    • Gender equality cuts across all SDGs. So, whether the goal is to generate sustainable economic growth and end poverty, stop climate change, or improve access to education, this event will demonstrate that women and girls are an equal part of the solution.

      • HE Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and Global Leader in Sustainable Development and Gender Equality
      • Vice President of Costa Rica, H.E. Epsy Campbell


  • Global Goals Business Forum – 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM – 18 January
    • Co-curated with the United Nations Global Compact, this forum will examine successes and best practice, as well as uniting businesses and spurring further action towards a sustainable and inclusive future.
    • Speakers include:
      • Sanda Ojiambo, CEO and Executive Director, UN Global Compact
      • Eva-Maria Liimets, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Estonia
      • Patrick Chalhoub, CEO, Chalhoub Group (UAE)

 Global Best Practice Programme Assembly – 12:00 PM – 16:30 PM – 20 January

    • Bringing together all 50 projects recognised as part of the programme, this event will spotlight select individuals and institutions actively designing solutions for change.
