The Hong Kong-based container carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced an astonishing increase of 119% in its total revenues and an important growth of 15.4% in its total container volumes for the second quarter of the year.

In particular, the COSCO-owned company has reported total revenues of more than US$3.46 billion in 2021Q2, which translates to revenues of more than US$6.48 billion for the first half of the year, which is a 107.6% increase compared with the first half of 2020.

Additionally, OOCL has announced that its total volumes have reached around 1.95 million TEU in the second quarter of the year and approximately 3.92 million TEU for the first six months of 2021.

The overall average revenue per TEU increased by 89.7% compared to the second quarter of last year and by 73.8% compared with the first half of 2020, according to the company’s announcement.
